Rebecca West  Hensinger

Rebecca West Hensinger is a mother, wife, triathlete, and recovery advocate hailing from Allentown, Pennsylvania. She began her work with the recovery and drug prevention community after many candid conversations with her father about his long-term sobriety. Rebecca believes that recovery positively impacts generations within families and has devoted herself to spreading this message across the country.

Rebecca is currently implementing free programming for early childhood educators surrounding the topic of drugs, alcohol, and positive decision-making. Her 15+ years of leading in public and private early childhood classrooms inform this national project. She has written pamphlets for parents about how to talk to children about drugs and alcohol and has also founded a hands-on prevention project called #RocksforRecovery. In March 2022, she will have completed her training to become a Certified Family Recovery Specialist.

Rebecca is an Ironman triathlete holding Silver Status for her top 10% international finish times and a former USAT Team USA Triathlon member alongside her husband, Brandon. Rebecca also enjoys cookie decorating, running with her Siberian Husky, rock climbing, mountaineering, and anything involving a physical challenge. Most recently, she and her husband summited the world’s tallest freestanding mountain (Kilimanjaro, Tanzania) and completed the Mt. Washington Winter Route in -15°F. Her sights are set on both the USOA national crown and attempting Mt. Everest Base Camp in 2022.
